All national and tribal parks and monuments provide visitor information. Visitor centers are located in Cortez and Dolores.

The major portion of the byway easily accommodates motor coaches. Mesa Verde National Park and Hovenweep National Monument offer easy access and adequate parking, as does the Four Corners Monument. Of the smaller sites, the Anasazi Heritage Center, Lowry Pueblo, and the Cortez Cultural Center can accommodate motor coaches. The Ute Tribal Park is not motor coach accessible, however, for smaller groups, van service is provided by the park for an additional fee.
